Peavey's Classic series amplifiers embody the best of the old along with the best of the new. Instead of just copying the old amps, they incorporated all the lessons learned in their 30-plus years to provide vintage tonality with the added capability of contemporary sounds. They added such necessary features as reverb, dual channels (footswitchable), and DC on the preamp heaters to minimize hum and noise. For the entire Classic series, they elected to use EL84s instead of 6L6s because of their buttery sweet, natural overload capabilities. Peavey's exclusive and patented TransTube technology really does create the sound, warmth, and "push back" of a tube amplifier, utilizing solid-state amplification. The basic building blocks of the TransTube sound are the exclusive designs of the preamp, power amp and T-Dynamics control. The preamp section tailors gain to meet the need for any amount of drive, from crystal clear to thick, smooth sustain. The power amp reacts just like a tube output section by responding to the preamp with natural compression that increases as the amp gets louder. T-Dynamics control lets the player dial the actual output of the amp, selecting any output level from full output down to 10% of full rated power. This way you can dial in a sound and maintain it at any volume level. |
